Welcome Letter
Dear Second Graders,
WELCOME TO SECOND GRADE! My name is Mrs. Perez-Walker and I am happy to be your teacher this year!
You should be very excited for this coming school year. We are going to learn a lot this year! We are going to read lots of different and fun stories. And writing a lot of stories too! We will be involved in math investigations and science experiments. Get ready for a busy and fun time.
The Desk Fairy will be searching for the cleanest and most organized desk. So I hope you are neat!
You will need to come to school prepared with several things. Each day, bring to school your homework folder, your “Just Right” book, math workbook, and a healthy snack.
Below is our class pledge. I am asking you to TRY to memorize it, and be ready to recite it everyday.
“I pledge today to do my best in reading, math, and all the rest. I promise to obey the rules, in my class and in the school. I’ll respect myself and others too, I’ll expect the best in all I do. I am here to learn all I can, to try my best and be all I am!” Remember to bring your brains, your smiles, and of course, yourselves! It’s going to be an Fantastic First Grade year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Perez-Walker
